Sixteen-year old Gospel sensation Nyasia has been gaining countless fans since her recording debut in 2012. The Richmond, VA resident was introduced to the Gospel music industry with her debut album, Take Off.   Take off is exactly what she did and the new CD netted the songstress her first Stellar Gospel Music Award nomination for Children’s Project of the Year in 2013, due largely to the project’s singles, “Dream Maker” and “I Love The Lord”. Last year the singer dropped her sophomore release, Shooting Star.  When the 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Award Nominations were announced recently, Nyasia was thrilled to find out that she had received her 3rd Stellar nod. She received the nomination in the category of Youth Project of the Year for Shooting Star.

Nyasia is excited to make the coveted nominations list once again. “I feel blessed for the nomination,” shares Nyasia. “I am excited and so grateful. I hope I win, but even if I don’t, I am glad to be nominated. Also, I have never been to Las Vegas before and I am looking forward to going there.”  The 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Las Vegas Orleans Arena on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Growing up in a Christian home, Gospel music was always familiar to Nyasia. She started singing at the tender age of three and performed her first solo, “Jesus Loves Me”, at her home church.  At nine years old she made the decision to be baptized. With an insatiable desire to know more about the Lord, her personal walk with God began that day.  It was then that she decided to use her musical gift to “bring people to God’s Kingdom”.

Seen frequently at talent shows in Richmond, her star began to rise. At the age of 12, her parents felt it was time for her to enter the Gospel music industry professionally and she recorded her first song, “Smile”. The single was followed by the CD, Take Off and more recently, Shooting Star.  In addition to her Stellar Award Nominations, she is the recipient of a 2013 Newsome Award for Teen Artist of the Year and 2013 and 2014 DMV Christian Music Awards for Children’s Talent.

For Nyasia, music is a vehicle for ministry. “I know there are other teens that are doing drugs and other things they shouldn’t do, but I want to introduce them to God,” says the Inspiring Dreams Entertainment Recording Artist.  “I want to show them a different way.”
