2014 has been an amazing year for GRAMMY Award Nominee Damion Murrill.  Introducing his group, Siloam, Damion released a brand new single, “Kingdom Come”, in early 2014 to rave reviews.  The ensemble sang the tune on television stations and networks nationwide including TBN, The Word Network, The Christian Television Network, TCT, NBC, and FOX and live on Radio One’s Praise 102.5FM in Atlanta.  Although Damion is thrilled with the exposure of his music ministry, he’s also excited about being the recipient of the 2014 Lamplighter Award for Senior Citizen Outreach. Presented on December 6th by Radio One’s Praise 103.9FM in Raleigh, NC, led by Jerry Smith, the annual awards program highlights those who have given back to the community.

As the founder of Word Changing Mission in Wilmington, NC, Damion has been giving back to his community since 1998.  With a goal of helping the lost and reaching the needy, Word Changing Mission targets its outreach in urban areas with high rates of unemployment and poverty.  In the Mission’s partnership with Word Changing Hearts Ministries, pastored by Damion’s brother, Pastor Darwin N. Murrill, they have fed the homeless, lent a hand to those with AIDS, promoted cancer awareness, initiated food, shoe and school drives and serviced local shelters.

Damion says, “Understanding how blessed I am, I am happy to help those who are in need.  Scripture tells us that if our brother or sister is hungry, we should feed them; if they are thirsty, we should give them something to drink and if they are naked, we are to clothe them.  Both my brother and I count it a blessing for the opportunity to give back.”

Damion is ending the year on a high note with the award, but 2015 promises even more for the singer, songwriter and producer.  He will be releasing a brand new single called “Don’t Let Me Fall”.  Penned by Murrill and flaunting a classic Gospel sound, “Don’t Let Me Fall” will be impacting radio in early 2015.  The single will be followed by the group’s debut CD, the Divinity Music Group release, Take A Stand, in the spring of next year.  In addition, in January 2015, Damion Murrill will be opening DMG Studios.  Located in Leland, NC, the full-service recording studio will be providing a variety of services for recording artists including production, CD duplication, mixing and mastering.

Groomed by the best, Damion Murrill is the protégé of multiple award-winning producer, songwriter and choir director Donald Lawrence.  He rose to fame as part of his family group, The Murrills.  The ensemble is known for backing Lawrence as part of the Tri-City Singers and for their Billboard-charting hits and GRAMMY and Stellar Award Nominations.
