The 39th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, held on July 20, 2024, was a night to remember for gospel music enthusiasts, and Da’ T.R.U.T.H was at the forefront of the celebration! The acclaimed gospel rapper not only won the prestigious Stellar Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year but also delivered a standout performance with Rich Tolbert Jr., that left the audience in awe.
The ceremony, co-hosted by Emmy Award-winning TV personality and comedian Loni Love, and Marconi Award-winning radio/TV personality and comedian Rickey Smiley, was filled with memorable moments and powerful performances. Da’ T.R.U.T.H’s recognition for his album Emanuel was one of the evening’s highlights, celebrating his dedication and artistry in the gospel music industry.
“It’s funny because I didn’t even have a speech prepared,” Da’ T.R.U.T.H shared. “I didn’t necessarily think I would win. But winning in the company of some of the most gifted artists of my generation is that much sweeter a victory. After investing three years into Emanuel, this recognition feels incredibly rewarding. Of course, we know that from heaven’s perspective, the album is triple platinum, but human affirmation is a gift from God that keeps the fire burning. To God be the glory for the things He has done.”
Da’ T.R.U.T.H’s performance at the Stellars was nothing short of spectacular. Sharing the stage with other gospel greats, his dynamic and heartfelt delivery captivated the audience. The night also featured performances by Chandler Moore, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Anthony Brown and group therAPy, Deitrick Haddon, Israel Houghton, Kelontae Gavin, Koryn Hawthorne, Lisa Knowles-Smith, Mali Music, Melvin Crispell III, Rich Tolbert Jr., and Ricky Dillard.
Currently, Da’ T.R.U.T.H is working on an impressive six albums simultaneously, each offering a unique blend of intellectual depth and personal storytelling. He is also writing an apologetic book aimed at equipping parents, pastors, and leaders to navigate challenging conversations in today’s climate.
