The 29th Annual Stellar Awards to Air in Broadcast Syndication Through March 2nd

The 29th Annual Stellar Awards will air in broadcast syndication through March 2.  Check your local listings. Experience counts, especially when hosting a live event and that was never more evident than when comedians Rickey Smiley and Sherri Shepherd co-hosted the 29th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards on Saturday.  Veteran stage performers who also star on daily on TV talk shows–Shepherd on ABC’s “The View” and Smiley is the breakout star on “Dish Nation“–shared good chemistry and great comedic timing throughout the show.

“Sherri and Rickey were fantastic and provided the comedy that took the show to another level,” said executive producer Don Jackson. “Their routines and comedic commentary were extremely funny, appropriate for our audience and connected to all aspects the show.”

For the second consecutive year, the Stellar Awards ceremony aired live on the UP Network.  Broadcast from Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium January 18th, the show featured some of the biggest names in gospel music and entertainment including: Tamela Mann, Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, Isaac Carree, Kimberly Elise, Jennifer Holliday, Erica Campbell, Lexi, Hezekiah Walker, Dr. Bobby Jones, Pastor Charles Jenkins, Tasha Cobbs, Donald Lawrence, David Mann, Tye Tribbett, The Wardlaw Brothers, Ricky Dillard, and The Canton Spirituals to list a few.
