Gospel Music’s Biggest Stars Kicked Off the 10th Annual McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour

Untitled-1Detroit was the place to be on Wednesday night as the tenth annual McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour got off to an electrifying start at Greater Grace Temple. Concertgoers were treated to a night of top-notch singing, messages of hope and inspiration, and lots of laughter. This year’s theme was Word Power, and the artists certainly used the words from their songs to inspire attendees. The incredible Donald Lawrence once again served as the musical director this year and took the crowd down memory lane with his hits while gospel music veteran Bishop Marvin Sapp let the crowd know why he’s a force to be reckoned with. Hometown favorite Karen Clark-Sheard soared to new heights with her voice, and Pastor Charles Jenkinsdeclared “War.” The energy and good times didn’t stop there. Canton Jones had everyone on their feet and at the stage while proclaiming “I Can’t Help It.” The smooth sounds of gospel crooners Jonathan McReynolds and Doug Williams of the Williams Brothers provided just the right balance. Host Lonnie Hunter kept the crowd engaged while also delivering captivating vocals and showcasing his amazing directing skills. And who can forget the laughter that filled the sanctuary as comedienneSmall Fire kept the crowd roaring? All in all, the night was remarkable.
