“Jealous”, the new single from worship leader, author, and songwriter Anthony Nelson, & The Overcomers promenades with light, drifting strides through an intimate conversation with God. Vocal layers gently collide to the beat, each element delivering a need to draw closer. Inspired by an authentic desire to be in greater relationship with Christ because “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously” (James 4:5) for real relationship. “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God” (Ex.34:14).

“Jealous,” out March 1, on New Heavens & New Earth, available on the upcoming EP, Inhabit (due out July 26) tells an all too familiar story of self-preservation in this journey called life. Situations and circumstances often time become idols. Lyrically, “Jealous” faces this reality, not ignoring the hardships that arise day-to-day. However, it too offers solace in knowing that God’s desire for relationship far outweighs happenstance, be encouraged.
