“I know for a fact that Mary Mary—because I’ve known them for years—they don’t try to be sexual. Some of the things that they want to wear, they’re in style,” Adams told Think Positive Magazine. A desire to be stylish is something Adams says she and her fellow entertainers want. However, when it comes to their respective shapes that is something they can’t change.
“I’m tall. I’m thin, but I have hips. A gown might graze me in a place where somebody may find it offensive, but it’s not sexual. That was not my intent,” Adams explained. “We can’t walk around with sheets on and moomoos. Then, they’ll talk about [that],” she said. “You have to take criticism with a grain of salt because you’re never going to please everybody.”
As for her individual style, Adams doesn’t have to look far. The singer simply has to look among her own clothing line, Yolanda’s Closet, to find a suitable outfit. “I’m very respectful in everything I wear,” said the singer, who admits to being very conscious about what she wears. “I think about it.”

It is okay for Gospel Artists wanting to be “in fashion” so to speak, BUT some things fashionable are NOT appropriate to wear. Many, not all, designers make clothes with the intentions of invoking sexual images and fantasies for consumers and onlookers. Men and women of God, of all shapes and sizes, should aspire to be MODEST in their apparel choices. There are numerous outfits that Christians can wear that are stylish while representing God. Erica Campbell’s CHOICE of dress was grossly poor judgement and I hope she does not repeat that “secular world lustful woman look” again in the future. Christians’ lifestyle and proclamations of the Gospel should MIRROR each other throughout their lives. Peace & Grace??

I wanted to ask a question of you, who said her choice of the dress was a ‘grossly poor judgement’ choice and who said that her look was ‘secular world lustful woman?’ Her lifestyle has nothing to do with how she was dressed. I’m amazed at how some ‘Christians’ are still dealing with how people dress in 2013! And we wonder why it is getting more and more difficult to witness to non-believers. Just sad….

I don’t think Erica Campbell looking sexual at all. I think she looked like a Woman of God embracing the body that God gave her. If you saw it as sexual, then maybe YOU’RE the one with the problem. You only see sex if it’s on your mind. Maybe YOU might need to renew YOUR mind and ask for “A LITTLE MORE JESUS”!!!
