Week of March 24, 2012 Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart: Flame Debuts at #1 & Andrea Helms Debuts at #2

This week on Billboard we have plenty of changes to the top 10 albums in Gospel. The first thing I notice is the debut of three new albums. Gospel Hip Hop Recording Artist, Flame, debuts at #1 on the Gospel albums chart and #8 on the Rap albums chart, with his latest project, The 6th.

Another debut we have is Sunday Best Finalist, Andrea Helms, with her EP Moving Forward at #2. Click here to listen to a recent interview uGospel.com did with Helms discussing the project. The final debut this week is Israel & New Breed at #10 with 10: Decade: The Best of Israel & New Breed.

Music World Gospel Recording Artist, Le’Andria Johnson still has two albums in the top 10 with her debut album, The Awakening of Le’Andria Johnson at #9 and her follow up project, The Evolution of Le’Andria Johnson at #5, after peaking at #2. After holding on to the #1 spot for a few weeks, WOW Gospel 2012 drops to #3, however, I have a strong feeling it will be back to #1 next week.

Fred Hammond, who also had a run at the #1 spot, is now #4 with God, Love & Romance. Slowly moving down the chart is James Fortune & FIYA with Identity dropping to #6 and William McDowell with Arise: The Live Worship Experience dropping to #7. Finally, the last member of the top 10 this week is LeCrae with Rehab at #8, after being on the chart for 76 weeks.
