Week of June 23, 2012 Billboard Top Gospel Songs Chart: Pastor Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago Take #1 Spot, Krik Franklin Enters Top 10

Finally! It’s been a while since I’ve seen so many changes in the top 10 Gospel songs. First, Pastor Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago’s radio anthem, Awesome, has sat Marvin Sapp’s My Testimony down from the #1 spot. Awesome is now #1 while My Testimony is #3. Andraé Crouch & Marvin Winans remain in the middle, holding on to the #2 spot with Let The Church Say Amen.

Although his album may have dropped a few spots on the chart, Jason Nelson’s title track, Shifting The Atmosphere, jumps from #7 to #4. Followed by JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise’s After This remaining at #5. Surprisingly, Fred Hammond’s I Feel Good is #6 after being in the top three last week.

Mary Mary’s Go Get It looks like it won’t be reaching the #1 spot, which is odd because I think it’s a great song. The song entered the chart 15 weeks ago and has only peaked at #6, reaching #7 this week. However, the dynamic sister duo currently has the #1 album, so I guess you can’t have it all.

William McDowell makes a slight jump to #8 with I Won’t Go Back followed by Zacardi Cortez and John P. Kee’s One More Time dropping to #9. Finally, closing out the top 10 is Kirk Franklin’s A God Like You, entering the top 10 at #10, after 41 weeks on the chart.
