Week of June 09, 2012 Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart: Mary Mary Still #1, Zacardi Cortez and Jason Nelson Debuts in Top 3

This week we have two albums debuting on Billboard. Zacardi Cortez’s new album, The Introduction, debuts at #2 and Jason Nelson’s Shifting The Atmosphere debuts at #3. Both albums were highly anticipated, so it’s no surprise they debuted at the top of the chart. However, they didn’t generate enough numbers to take the #1 spot away from Mary Mary’s Go Get It.

There aren’t any other new entries on the chart, just the same albums in different positions. Marvin Sapp’s I Win drops to #4 followed by the Joyful Noise Soundtrack dropping to #5. WOW Gospel 2012 is slowly descending on the chart, dropping to #6 this week after peaking at #1. William McDowell’s Arise: The Live Worship Experience is #7, after 29 weeks on the chart.

Trip Lee, who also debuted at #1, is now #8 with his latest album, The Good Life. Trip also has a book in the works of the same title. Fred Hammond’s God, Love & Romance is #9, followed by JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise’s After This at #10, concluding the top 10 this week.
