Week of July 21, 2012 Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart: Mary Mary Returns to #1, Pastor Jenkins Drops to #3

 

The albums are all over the place this week on the chart. The only albums remaining in the same position as last week are Nephew Tommy’s Prank Phone Calls Vol. 5 at #4 and William McDowell’s Arise: The Live Worship Experience at #6. We also have two re-entries to the top 10, James Fortune & FIYA’s Identity at #8 and the Joyful Noise Soundtrack at #9.

Mary Mary regains the #1 spot with their latest album, Go Get It, followed by Marvin Sapp jumping from #5 to #2 with I Win. Earlier this week we posted an article on what appears to be Marvin’s upcoming reality show. After holding down the #1 spot for several consecutive weeks, Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago drops to #3 with The Best of Both Worlds.

WOW Gospel 2012 jumps to #5 from #7, while Marvin Winans drops to #7 after debuting at #3 last week with Marvin Winans Presents: The Praise and Worship Experience. Finally, the album completing this week’s top 10 is JJ Hairston & Youth Praise’s After This at #10.
