Video: Pastor Kim Burrell Addresses “The Church” & “Church People” on The Lexi Show

If you’re sensitive about how the church is characterized and don’t do well with open criticism of the body of Christ, you’re sure to be offended by Kim Burrell’s interview on The Lexi Show.

Never one to be afraid to speak her mind, popular vocalist and recording artist Kim Burrell got real candid when talking about how “church people” are stuck in their mentalities and do “stupid” things. She accused the “church at large” of having no compelling power, being disgruntled, and bored.

The pastor of Houston’s Love and Liberty Fellowship Church told Lexi, “I’m defending what I represent and I represent far more than what’s in the church, thank God…they need to do more. Yeah, the church at large, my heart goes out to them because they won’t allow themselves to go out into the highways and hedges, because they have no compelling power, because they are so judgmental and so limited to what they learned in church that they keep recycling the old same-old-same-old, until they become disgruntled and they fight within the insides of church, because they’re bored.”

Let’s define church. Are we talking about people who show up every Sunday & appear holy outwardly but have no real relationship with Christ? Or are talking about people who have repented of their sins & walk in obedience to God’s word? The former is just religious but again, have no reality behind their profession. The latter is just being obedient to the scriptures & calling all who profess to be believers to do the same. God has standards. We are to come OUT from the world & be separate, 2 Cor. 6:17. We don’t lower our standards to “minister”. We speak the word & let the Holy Ghost do the rest. When we switch up & start being like them to win them, which is totally unbiblical by the way, we reveal what’s truely in our hearts in spite of what we say. Maybe so many gospel artist look, act & live like the world because they never really left the world. Just my thoughts……
