The song is taking off at radio where it’s picked up nearly a dozen station adds in a short time span. It’s even reached the Top 25 on the station playlists of two leading gospel stations, WLOU 1350 AM in Louisville, KY and WAGG 610 AM in Birmingham, AL. “I really like the song,” says WLOU Program Director, Broderick Purvis. “It’s up-tempo and it’s a good church song.”
Davis is a Los Angeles, CA native. His career in music began when his father overheard him singing along to a TV commercial. His dad encouraged his musical gifts from that day forward. He grew up enjoying the music of Thomas Whitfield, Nat King-Cole, Marvin Winans, The Hawkins Family, Andre Crouch and The Clark Sisters. He’s a graduate of Oral Roberts University where he served as a member of the Oral Roberts Ministry Evangelistic Team. He gained national attention as a Season 3 finalist on BET’s “Sunday Best” reality show and talent competition series in 2010 where he came in third in the competition behind Elder Goldwire McClendon and the winner, Le’Andria Johnson. He is an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ. Durward and his wife, Sonya, currently reside in Tampa, FL.
