Tribbett will celebrate the miracle of spring renewal and Christ’s Resurrection with an inspirational concert launching Bounce Back!, an annual Easter weekend community event being held this year at the Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood, New Jersey on Good Friday,

Recording, Labor Day Weekend (September 1-2) at Evangel Cathedral in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  Full details TBA.

Last October, Tribbett, principal founding member of the Grammy-nominated/Stellar Award-winning new gospel powerhouse Tye Tribbett & GA (Greater Anointing), released Fresh, his first full-on solo album.  Recorded with a smaller tighter ensemble than previous outings, Fresh, like its G.A. predecessors, Victory Live! (2006) and Stand Out (2008), catapulted to #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart, securing for Tye his third consecutive chart-topper.

Honest and uplifting, exuberant and street-smart, Fresh is about new beginnings, the fullness of life, the joy of music and the boundless grace of God.  AllMusic observed that “…from the hard-hitting ‘Good’ to the Lenny Kravitz-like rocker ‘Free to Worship,’ this is Tribbett delivered all-the-way-live and with an extra punch.  His voice is as strong as ever, and with the usual high-caliber songwriting coming from Tribbett and his collaborators Tyler Logan and Devaughn Murphy, Fresh is a worthy addition to his discography.”

“Keep Me,” the second single from Fresh, reached #16 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart.  A video for the song is slated for lensing in late March.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, Tye Tribbett is the son of two preachers…both his mother and father wore the cloth…and Tye himself, a loving husband and father of two daughters, responded to the Call, going on to minister through his music and the Living Word.  Growing up surrounded by hymns and gospel music, Tye learned to make music at an early age.  “I’ve been playing all my life,” he explains.  “Before I knew my ABC’s, I knew the ABC’s on the keys.”  As a teenager, he honed his skills as a keyboardist by accompanying such regional notables as Steve Middleton, the late James Viner and the Tri-State Mass Choir of the Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar.

In 1996, Tye founded a gospel choir, Greater Anointing (GA), consisting of a group of family and friends whose hearts were set simply on praising the Creator through the gift of great music.  Tye knew from the beginning they’d tapped into something real and glorious. “That first rehearsal blew my mind,” he says.  “I knew that this was it.  I knew that this is what I was supposed to be doing.”

“Let Go, Let God,” Tye’s first official recording with GA, appeared on the Dreamworks release, Prince of Egypt, in 1998.  After supporting country icon Faith Hill on her 2000 tour, Tye Tribbett and GA worked with a variety of artists including Will Smith, Usher, Mary Mary, Don Henley, Justin Timberlake and Sting.  Tye’s first album with the group, Life, hit #6 on the Top Gospel chart in 2004 with subsequent releases Victory Live! and Stand Out each hitting #1.
