An album unlike anything in its genre, HEART. PASSION. PURSUIT. solidifies Cobbs Leonard’s progression as one of the premier Gospel artists of our time. From beginning to end, HEART. PASSION. PURSUIT. is an authentic stream of worship straight from her heart.
Produced by Kenneth Leonard, Jr., HEART. PASSION. PURSUIT. is the culmination of a remarkable week-long recording event. A true visionary, Cobbs Leonard shared her platform by bringing together a world-class group of musicians and 25 worship leaders from around the country. The result is a universal worship sound that is palpable and profound, touching a chord with many different audiences. Songs like “Great God” and“Your Spirit” feat. Kierra Sheard are sure to resonate with longtime fans, while songs like “The Name of Our God” and “Gracefully Broken,” co-written with Matt Redman and Jonas Myrin, build new bridges in worship. The album also includes features by worship artists Jimi Cravity and Anna Golden, as well as a surprise guest appearance by Nicki Minaj on “I’m Getting Ready.”
“I knew I would have to gather different people in order to create the vision of having a ‘universal’ sound,’” said Cobbs Leonard. “The sound you hear [on the album] happened because we were able to merge different nationalities and cultures together … it helped to create something fresh.”
This week, Cobbs Leonard gave an impressive performance of “I’m Getting Ready,” on BET’s Black Girls Rock TV special.
