The “Big Gospel Weekend” Heads to Virginia with Dr. Bobby Jones, Dorothy Norwood and Many More

One of the biggest Gospel Weekends on the East Coast is getting set to hit Richmond, VA on Saturday, July 12th and Sunday, July 13th 2014 with co-host Dr. Bobby Jones and Sheilah Belle “The Belle”.

On Saturday July 12th it’s the2nd Annual East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest, held this year at 5th Baptist Church, 1415 West Cary Street, Richmond,VA.

When The Belle and her “B Kore Crew” FIRST created the East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest in July 2013 they had no idea how the success of the weekend event would touch so many lives, but it did! Gospel music from all styles were represented with Troy Sneed, Chanel of Trin-I-Tee 5:7, The Showers, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Earl Bynum & The Mount, Eric Waddell & The Abundant Life Singers, Bubby Fann, Javen, Petula Beckles, Bryan Pound, James Johnson & The Voices of Cedar Street, J.T. Logan, Bar Muziq, Gospel Rapper Blaze, C. Goss, Ty Berkeley, Arvetra Jones, Ruth La’Ontra, Van Boyd and Donald Ashley, along with a Gospel Hip-Hop segment.

The event created a blessed networking opportunity for newcomers in the Gospel community as well as established and industry executives.  Troy Sneed and Emtro Records also handed out a record deal to an up and coming independent solo artists.  And with the success of the FIRST East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest “we are looking forward to doing it again this year,” says The Belle.

On Sunday, July 13, 2014, The Belle will also celebrate “The 5th Annual Gospel Music Fest with The Belle” at Dogwood Dell.  The annual outdoor event is set to return to a city that has long been known for its mixture of Traditional and Quartet sounds.  Now listed as one of the largest outdoor Gospel Concerts on the East Coast, the Dogwood Dell stage in Byrd Park is now set for some of the biggest names in Gospel with co-host Dr. Bobby Jones and The Belle.

Already confirmed to perform during the two day weekend are Dr. Bobby Jones, Dorothy Norwood, Lemmie Battle, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Minister Earl Bynum, James Murphy, Damon Little, Superintendent Patrick Wooden & The Upper Room COGIC of Raleigh, NC., The Virginia Aires of Chesapeake, VA, Maurice Griffin, James Johnson & the Voices of Cedar Street, St. Paul’s Baptist Church Mass Choir, G.I., Dr. Larry D. Reid and the Breakthrough Singers, JoJo, Chiquita L Cross, Marcell Wyche, Donte’ McCutchen, Zions Voice, Eric Waddell & The Abundant Life Singers, and many more soon to be named.
