Signed to the Motown Gospel Roster less than two years ago, Brian Courtney Wilson’s album Worth Fighting For was the label’s first release of 2015. Produced by multiple Grammy award winner and the label’s VP of A&R, Aaron Lindsey, the album garnered Wilson his first Dove Award for “Traditional Gospel Album”. Additionally, the album’s lead single “Worth Fighting For” peaked #1 at Gospel Radio. This is Wilson’s first Grammy Award nomination of his career.
A winner at the 2014 Grammys, Cobbs took home a Grammy for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance for her record-breaking hit, “Break Every Chain”. In August, Cobbs released her highly anticipated follow-up project One Place Live. Produced by label mate, VaShawn Mitchell, it debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel and Gospel/Christian Charts. Cobbs also took home a Dove Award for the 2015 Gospel Artist of the Year and shared the stage with Hip-Hop Artist/Humanitarian Common at the Global Citizen Festival. Recently, she shouted down the house with a performance at the 2015 Soul Train Awards and kicked off her ‘One Place Live’ Tour.
Motown Gospel celebrates their artists and the award recognition:
“All of us at Motown Gospel feel blessed to work with Tasha Cobbs and Brian Courtney Wilson,” says Ken Pennell (President of Gospel Music, Capitol Christian Music Group), “Their talent and commitment inspire us. Congratulations Tasha and Brian!”
