TaMyya J Is Moving Up The Billboard Chart As She Plans Her Live DVD Recording Concert On October 14th

unnamed-67Gospel singer and radio host, TaMyya J returns with her new single, “God Got My Back.” The song is steeped in a commercial sound of pop sanctified in the empowering message of staying true to whom you are. The single drops in September 2016. The catchy single is the follow-up to the hit single, Champion reaching no. 15 on the Billboard Chart. This teases her second album, Love For Your Name, infusing a modern pop/RnB twist to the traditional Gospel genre giving it a youthful and vibrant vibe.

 

The independently produced debut album, Suddenly earned TaMyya J a nomination for Gospel Music Channel’s Pop of The Video Award for her song, Before Your Changes Comes. The first single, More Than You’ll Ever Know reached number on Gospel radio across the country, in addition to reaching number one on Gospel internet radio. The Reason, the fifth song off her debut album was selected and included on the compilation CD, Gospel Skate Jams, Vol.2 receiving nomination for the 2008 Stellar Award for Best Hip Hop CD of the Year.

 

TaMyya’s passion for Gospel transcends as she hosts her own weekly radio show on Saturdays from 9pm – 10pm, Never Missed a Beat on the We Have Gospel! Radio station.

In 2005, TaMyya J kicked off the Fashion Fair Cosmetics campaign and performed at department stores across country meeting and interacting with customers and fans. Her music became a cornerstone for the campaign and customers were treated to a limited three-song CD. She continued as the music ambassador for the campaign for three consecutive years sponsored by Ebony Magazine’s then-parent company, Johnson and Johnson Publishing.

 

The Willingboro, NJ native was singing before she could speak and singing in church truly allowed her to showcase her voice. At the age of 14 she along with four other youth, Praise who won 1st place in McDonald’s Gospelfest’s Youth Division and performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City. She has toured with the iconic gospel duo, Mary Mary for the last six years as the soprano background vocalist. In 2007, she shared the stage with Erica Campbell in the hit musical stage play, Who Do You Love. She was featured on Patrick Riddle & D’Vyne Worship’s Without You.  

 

TaMyya J’s love for music and faith allowed her to perform across the world spreading the Christian message. She has previously worked with the House of Esther Ministries, a non-profit providing assistance to girls and women in need of emotional and financial help and hopes to collaborate with charities benefitting children in the future.
