Popular Inspirational Singer Robert E. Person is Set to Perform at D.C.’s Famed Blues Alley

Robert E. Person is known for his smoldering tenor vocals and near perfect delivery.  The artist’s career has soared since the release of his critically-acclaimed project, Soul Sanctuary.  Showcasing inspirational, urban and jazz sounds, the CD is the third effort from the award-winning soloist.  Produced by Allyn Johnson, Director of Jazz Studies of the University of the District of Columbia, the project flaunts strong jazz and soul influences.  Those influences will be front and center as Person makes his debut at the famed Jazz Club, Blues Alley (1073 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. – 202.337.4141), on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the 8PM & 10PM shows.  Tickets can be purchased at www.bluesalley.com.

The renowned jazz hot spot has seen countless legends perform there and Person is humbled at the opportunity.  “Blues Alley has hosted many of the world’s finest jazz artists–Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Phyllis Hyman, Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson and Ramsey Lewis,” says Robert.  “I am amazed and honored to be added to this list, and grateful to God for trusting me to share His message of love and hope on this platform.”  The Allyn Johnson Trio will be featured at both shows and Marcellus “Bassman” Shepard of Baltimore’s WEAA 88.9FM will be the host for the evening.  An exceptional balladeer and song stylist, Robert plans to share a few musical surprises as he will debut new songs at the venue.  Attendees will be treated to some never heard before songs as well as new arrangements of familiar tunes.
