“I was singing and writing about a place in worship that I wanted to go back to, that place with the Lord that I hadn’t been to in a while,” he shares. “I want listeners to quickly dive into worship and reflect on who God is in their own personal lives.”
Newcomer MYYAH LOCKHART Gospel Music With Debut Worship Single “Awesome Jesus”
Myyah Lockhart is a musician, songwriter, actor and minister who spent his childhood singing in church and becoming a savant on the alto saxophone. His musical journey is highlighted with a role as Drum Major in 20th Century Fox’s hit film Drumline, an appearance on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne television sitcom, and touring internationally to Italy and Switzerland. Myyah currently serves as a military pilot in the United States Air Force and, from his growing passion for ministry, is an ordained elder and the International Missions Director at his home church Judah Temple of Praise Church in Nashville, TN.
Over the last few years Myyah spent most weekends playing and singing at weddings and corporate events. Myyah is now focused and compelled to further pursue his desires in music ministry with his own impassioned style of writing and musical arrangement.
“God caused me to become disenfranchised with the idea of playing for parties on Saturday and singing his praises on Sunday,” Myyah explains. “With this, I followed God in giving it all up for His glory and the Lord began to flood me with fresh, original worship songs!”
While in deep thought about the awesome power of Jesus, Myyah wrote his debut single “Awesome Jesus”. His single is a beautifully arranged, heartfelt ballad of adoration describing his personal story of worship.
“Awesome Jesus” is available on all digital music and streaming outlets and is the precursor to his forthcoming 2019 EP release. Myyah will finish out this year ministering in song on Friday, December 14 at the “Regenerate” Concert at Original Christ Temple Church, 4201 Old Hickory Blvd, Old Hickory, TN and on Saturday, December 22 at “A Joyful Christmas Celebration” at Judah Temple of Praise, 1700 Shelby Ave, Nashville, TN.
