“Over the last year, life has thrown me many challenges, transitions, and adjustments but I still have my faith because with every test I’ve learned how to stand on the warranty and authority of God’s word,” Pugh asserts. “Each test refined the faith within me – bringing forth the lyrics in this song.”
“Make no mistake about it, faith must be tested but daily study and preparation keeps us on point for every test,” Pugh adds about this rousing tune that is somewhat different in style and feel from Pugh’s signature hits. “I Believe Your Most” is headed to radio stations this week and serves as the lead single from Pugh’s forthcoming July CD release, “Earnest Pugh: Live in the Nassau, Bahamas” CD that will also feature a live” version of the single. This project is Pugh’s first offering via his newly formed P-Man Records label that is distributed by Central South Distribution in Nashville, TN.
The singer best known for the #1 hits “Rain on us” and “I Need Your Glory” is scheduled to record the live CD in Nassau, Bahamas on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Atlantis Hotel under the production ears of Grammy Award winner Cedric Thompson during Radio One’s One Love Get-Away.
Pugh is quite excited about the recording that will feature surprise cameos by other gospel stars and a special tribute to the late choirmaster O’Landa Draper who died prematurely of renal failure in 1998 when he was only 34 years old. “The most special moment of the live recording that I’m looking forward to is the O’landa Draper medley,” Pugh explains. “Most people know that he was my mentor and really encouraged me to go beyond the four walls of my church and to accept engagements as a soloist when I was as young as 14 years old. I’m thrilled to be in a position to help the next generation get to know O’landa’s music and to keep his name and music alive.”
