New Gospel Recording Artist Wosheka Jefferson Burriel Releases Christian Line Dance Song, “Praise Unusual”

woshekaWosheka Jefferson Burriel is a multi-talented, multi-faceted woman of God.  A prophetess, ordained elder, recording artist, musician, and author, she is passionate about ministry.  The CEO of Anointed Melodies School of Music, LLC, and Co-Founder of Extreme Faith Ministries, Burriel has just released a brand new song called “Praise Unusual”.  Touted as one of the first Christian line dance songs, “Praise Unusual” is already beginning to take the south by storm.

Not your typical praise song, “Praise Unusual” has a unique theme.  Wosheka says, “There are certain times in life when God deserves an unusual praise.  I know what to do on a Sunday morning, but this kind of praise is when I am by myself, in my cubicle.  This is a praise in the break room at work or in the kitchen at home.  It’s a praise that happens when you take a moment to think about where God has brought you from; this kind of praise is not your average praise”.

Once Burriel had put the pen down after writing the song, she was surprised at the end result.  “Upon completion of writing the song, I realized that God had not only written a relatable praise song, but a line dance as well, which I choreographed.”  The dance is catching on in Wosheka’s hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.  It’s even been incorporated into exercise classes.  The song is currently available on iTunes and other digital retailers.

In addition to the release of the song, the artist is launching a “Praise Unusual” Dance Contest.  Targeted to churches, ministries, fraternities, sororities, to children and grandparents alike, the contest hopes to find the best “Praise Unusual” dance.  The winner of the dance contest will be featured in the official music video for “Praise Unusual”.  Those wanting to give God a “praise unusual” or those who desire to enter the contest can view the line dance by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1cqygIJ.  Video submissions (already uploaded) should be sent via email to praiseunusualmusic@gmail.com.  Entrants should include contact information, city and state of residence, and any organizational affiliation.  The competition starts on Monday, March 3, 2014, and entries will be received through April 15, 2014. The winner will be announced on April 20, 2014.

The song is the first cut released from the forthcoming CD, PSALMbook.  Released on her own indie label, her sophomore musical collection contains uplifting and motivational tracks.  In addition to “Praise Unusual”, the psalmist has also penned songs like “Rainbow”, a song reminding the listener of God’s promise that what happened yesterday will never happen again.  Other powerful tracks include “Enlisted”, a song about signing up for service in the army of the Lord, and “Lose Myself”, a track of unabashed worship.  The new CD will be released Tuesday, July 7, 2014.

A writer of songs and of books, Burriel is also the author of Healed On My Way, an autobiographical reflection about emotional abuse, sexual abuse, depression, infidelity, rejection and God’s ultimate healing.  Chronicling the most difficult parts of her life, she tells her story (and redemption) to help others who have experienced some of life’s most painful experiences.  Currently on a book tour supporting Healed On My Way, Wosheka will be in Dallas, TX on March 15th and Louisville, KY from April 9th – 11th.  Additional cities include Atlanta, GA; New York City, NY; Abuja, Nigeria and Johannesburg, South Africa.  Dates and locations can be found at www.woshekajeffersonburriel.com.
