Those who have heard “The Atmosphere Is Ready” can’t say enough positive things about the song. Penned by Gavin Davis and Chris Leach, the beautiful track is pure worship. William says, “‘The Atmosphere Is Ready’ is about preparing the environment for the presence of God. It’s about removing all distractions so that God can enter in and get comfortable,” says the artist. Worship is a lifestyle for William and he has strong roots in the apostolic church. He also comes from a family of musicians; his father was a professional bassist. The music bug bit William, Jr. as well and he taught himself to play piano. Although music and faith were an important part of his life, an unfortunate incident at church caused him to walk away. But after a couple of traumatic experiences, including a failed business and homelessness, he found his way back to God and back to music.
Now years later, William is the founder of the dynamic Gospel ensemble, Jubilant Nation. They are not merely an aggregation of anointed singers; they have a mission in their music. The group is committed to three areas of focus: glorifying God, edifying the body of Christ and pointing the unbeliever to Christ. He is passionate about giving back to God and his community. His ministry, Stevens Ministry, has partnered with ScholarCHIPS to help raise money for children with incarcerated parents. For William, it’s about becoming Christ’s hands and feet. “Whether it’s through music ministry or Stevens Ministry, I feel it’s important to share Christ’s love with the world. For me, that’s what it’s all about.”
