Lawsuit Filed by Madeline Tims to Keep Cause of Death Private Gets Rejected

As we told you in previous reports, Zach Tims’s mother, Madeline Yvonne Tims, didn’t want his cause of death made public. She filed a legal challenge to prevent the city of New York and its medical examiner’s office from publicly revealing the Florida mega-church pastor’s cause of death. It appeared that the cause of death would actually remain private.

However, the Christian Post claims a judge has ruled that the New York City medical examiner’s office can move forward with publicly releasing the cause and manner of Zach Tims’ death. The lawsuit filed by Madeline Tims to keep secret the cause of the death was rejected by the Manhattan Supreme Court, and the family has 30 days to appeal the decision.

Many have speculated what the cause of death is, however nothing can be proven as true until the results are released. Tims was found dead in a room at the W Hotel in Times Square on Aug. 12. Investigators determined that there was no criminal element to the pastor’s death. However, sources close to the investigation told the New York Daily News that a glassine envelope with white powder was found in Tims’ pocket.

The church has a right to know, we support these ministries and the city has a right to know, becasue of the 501c3. Once we know, the real cause, it is our responsibility as a Body of Believers to make certain this never happens again. Yes the church has a right to know, they were supporting that church financially. When we find out we must deal with pastors that cheat, and set them down.

I agree: The church DOES have a right to know. We lend our financial support, prayers, love, commitment and loyalty to our pastors and when something happens in their lives that affects us as a Body of Believers, it is less than honorable on THEIR part and on the part of church leadership, to try to cloak it or cover it up!

I don’t say that the whole WORLD needs to know, but I think most Believers (along with myself) have had it up to the eyeballs with the double standard!! Lay members mess up & you either go before the church, get “silenced,” ex-communicated and/or get put on blast for everyone to know. Church LEADERS mess up and the great cover up begins. It’s a rebuke to the Church of the Living God, it wounds the Body (but from where I sit it doesn’t appear that the average pastor even CARES much about their members, outside of their financial and physical (warm body in a seat for appearances sake) support, like they used to back in the day when I came to the Lord!

The Word of God CANNOT lie, it WILL not be mocked and it cannot change! The Word says that WHOSOEVER….Apostle, Bishop, Pastor, State Momma, Deacon, Minister of Music, Youth Director, Choir Member, LAY member….WHOSOSEVER covers his sin will not prosper!!! But whoso CONFESSES and FORSAKES them shall have mercy!” In another place it said: “Confess your faults ONE TO ANOTHER (not the press…not the non-Believer) ONE TO ANOTHER that ye may be healed.” We only quote the “B” clause of that scripture: “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much,” but there is a REASON that the “A” clause of that scripture was scribed down FIRST!!!

Contrary to the way it’s been advertised, there are NOT (according to the Word) 2 separate laws that govern the church! God’s Word is the only law that we need. And if we would follow it, we’d get God’s results. Instead, when OUR church leaders fall and flub up, they MOVE the plumb-line instead of getting back under it and REPENTING!!! And the mess that we have on our hands in the church today is a direct result of the failure of church leadership, to hold THEMSELVES accountable to the same standards that they have PREACHED to their congregants for years!!!

Outside of Christ, there is no governing authority over an Independent church (a church with no Apostle, Bishop or Overseer). Therefore, if a fallen leader of an independent church does not have integrity, humility and enough love for God and for his or her congregation to discipline THEMSELVES, NO one has authority or rights to mete out discipline against that church leader, or to sit them down.

We’re in a HOT mess in the Body of Christ, and there is only one remedy that will bring restoration, properly! (I said PROPERLY cause nowadays we see pastors committing statutory rape, embezzlement, theft and all KINDS of damnable things ONE minute, then instead of addressing their congregations they dis the heck appear for SIXTY minutes, and then show right back up in the pulpit and go to preaching again the NEXT minute! No shame, no remorse, no brokenness – NOTHING) I’m not talking about THAT kind of restoration! But the 1 and ONLY path to restoration that ALWAYS works is 2 Chronicles 2:14. “If my people…..”

If we would just do it God’s way we could shut the mouth of the gain sayers, regain the respect of non Believers, heal the Body of Christ and restore order in the Kingdom. Until then, my prayer is: I Samuel 21.13!!! God always has been and always will be the only TRUE hope, for His people!

I whole heartedly disagree with Ms. Tate. You don’t have a RIGHT to know even by the 501c3. It doesn’t encompass this. The only people who have the RIGHT to know is his family . Everyone else is just being nosey!!!!
