Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Stellar Award winner Jonathan Nelson is not only expecting the great (the title of his current radio smash) but he’s just received some great news. The singer’s sophomore CD, Better Days (Integrity Music), has debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Top Gospel album sales chart. The 10-song CD of faith-inspired affirmations was produced by Grammy Award winning producer Aaron Lindsey (Israel & New Breed, Martha Munizzi, and Marvin Sapp). “I’m so thankful to God and to all of my supporters for helping `Better Days’ debut so high on the charts,” says Nelson.  “Thank you all! This is just the beginning! Although, this is a huge milestone, the journey continues.  I Expect the Great!”

The music video for “Expect The Great” (currently #13 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart) will premiere on Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) “Video Gospel” program on Sunday, October 3, 2010 @ 11 a.m. EST. Nelson just wrapped a two-week, ten city promotional tour that took him to such diverse spots as Miami, New York City, and Philadelphia. Along the way, Nelson appeared on syndicated radio programs such as “CoCo Brother Live” and “The Lonnie Hunter Show.” In Chicago, Nelson did a Coca Cola Lounge interview and a performance for WRGB 1390 AM. He appeared on the Fox TV affiliate in his hometown of Baltimore, MD where he also performed songs from the project at a packed out concert at his former church, The Empowerment Temple.

Nelson has quickly emerged as one of the leading voices on today’s praise and worship music scene. Over the last half a dozen years, he’s put his stamp on urban praise music as the composer of now classic tunes such as Donald Lawrence’s “Healed,” Youth for Christ’s #1 smash “The Struggle Is Over,” and Bishop T.D. Jake’s “My Praise Is My Weapon.” Then, in 2008, Nelson stepped from the shadows to reveal himself as a charismatic worship leader with his Top 10 smash “My Name Is Victory” which spent an astounding 65 weeks on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart and won him a Dove Award nomination as Best New Artist of the Year.

Recorded live at The Faith Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where Nelson is the minister of music, this project places him in a new musical class. “I moved from sophomore class to junior class with this CD,” Nelson says proudly. “The world needs to hear these proclamations. My Name is Victory was a great start but this new album is centered on the world to help change the world.

I have been given the assignment of writing lyrics that the people of God will sing over themselves and ultimately to God. If we sing to each other about his goodness, mercy, power, love and faith, we create an atmosphere for healing, miracles, signs and wonders… I sincerely believe this CD is going to be monumental because many listeners will also say yes to God in every area of their life. Then, we all will truly experience better days!
