In just a few weeks, “You’re Bigger” rightfully joins the ranks of Gospel’s most popular current songs, such as “Worth,” by Anthony Brown, “Wanna Be Happy,” by Kirk Franklin, and “Intentional” by Travis Greene, among others, and shows all signs of a continued steady upward climb.
At first listen, “You’re Bigger” picks up right where Carr’s previous smash hit song, “Greater Is Coming” left off. Familiar are her dynamic vocals, her unparalleled conviction, and her bold delivery that’s far beyond her 18 years. What’s different is that Carr has now shifted her conversation from horizontal to vertical. “Greater Is Coming” was a song of encouragement, promise, and praise; from believer to believer. “You’re Bigger” propels the atmosphere from praise to worship, as it is not a song about God, but rather a song to God. “You’re Bigger” addresses God in all of His omnipotence, and echoes of His sovereignty and power.
“You’re Bigger” is undoubtedly resonating with audiences, as the response to the song has been overwhelming. Industry leaders and consumers alike are all buzzing about this latest release from Gospel music’s reigning princess. The song is gaining momentum every day, with increased airplay, social media chatter, and as Carr criss-crosses the nation delivering powerful and electrifying performances at every stop.
“You’re Bigger” is the lead single from Carr’s forthcoming CD, The Life Project, which is slated for release in Spring 2016. The Life Project is Carr’s third full-length CD release, and her very first live recorded project. The live setting takes Carr out of the confines of a studio and places her in her inherent comfort zone – among the people, affording her the opportunity to effortlessly flow in both her musical and ministerial gifts. Carr is right at home where music and ministry intersect, and “You’re Bigger” is another strong indicator that that, as well as on the top of the charts, is right where she belongs.
