“You Spoke Over Me” is a powerful affirmation of faith that prompts us to shift our focus upward, to see ourselves as God sees us. It reminds us that even when we don’t see God’s vision for our lives with our natural eyes, we must stir up our faith to remember that our destiny has already been spoken, and merely waits for the appointed time in which we line up with it. Carr’s passionate delivery envelopes this poignant ballad with conviction and clarity as she ministers the song’s powerful message. “You Spoke Over Me” will be impacting Gospel radio this week.
Aside from her new single, Carr is gearing up for her debut appearance at the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration is the only Gospel concert officially sanctioned by the NFL, and has become one of the most highly anticipated events surrounding the internationally renowned game itself. Carr will join fellow luminaries CeCe Winans, Natalie Grant, Anthony Hamilton, Damien Escobar, John Gray and others at this year’s celebration which creates a unique space for athletes and fans to join forces with some of the biggest names in Gospel music and acknowledge and express their faith and gratitude.
Carr is also gearing up for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, taking place live on February 12th, where she will attend as a first-time nominee for Best Gospel Performance/Song for “You’re Bigger.”This honor proves even more profound as, Carr, a 19 year-old independent artist, born and raised in rural Memphis, TN, is nominated alongside some of the most noteworthy names in Gospel Music. She states, “I thank God for the tremendous favor he has shown me, and for my father and the rest of my family who recognized and cultivated my calling and gift early in my life. This is truly a dream come true and I plan to take in every moment of the experience!”
