Jekalyn Carr Attributes Success To The Anointing Of God And The Support And Guidance Of Her Father And Family

GRAMMY nominee Jekalyn Carr, the 19 year-old powerhouse considered by many to be the voice of a generation, credits her success, career and ministry accomplishments to the anointing and ordination of God as well as to the wisdom, guidance, and support of her family, and most notably, her dad. Allen Carr wears many hats when it comes to the life, career, and assignment of his daughter, Jekalyn. He serves as her father, pastor, manager, songwriter, producer, and label owner.

To date, Mr. Carr has started the family-run label, Lunjeal Music Group, where all of her recordings are housed, negotiated distribution deals with Malaco Music Group for her early recordings, and eOne Music for her latest release, THE LIFE PROJECT, which became her first #1 CD on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. Carr has also written and produced her two biggest songs thus far, “Greater Is Coming” and “You’re Bigger”. The latter of which has recently been named as the #2 Gospel Radio Song of 2016 on the Billboard Year-End Gospel Airplay chart, in their “Year In Review” issue. It is an accurate assessment that Mr. Carr is responsible for taking Jekalyn’s talents from the back porch of her hometown and groomed her for the largest and most prestigious stages and platforms around the world. Most notably, her name will soon be announced on the renowned GRAMMY stage, as a first-time nominee in the category of Best Gospel Performance/Songfor “You’re Bigger”.

When asked about what it’s like having her dad play so many different roles in her life and career, Jekalyn says “It’s a blessing,” and that traveling and spending time with her dad is fun, and that she doesn’t have to worry about anything because he takes care of it all. From the music, to the contracts, to the itinerary, she trusts her father implicitly and trusts his relationship with God to allow him to handle the business so she can focus on the ministry. She credits him for starting from the ground – not knowing much about the music industry at all – and working his way up to building the label, and her career, to where they are today, as well as touching the world with his own gifts of songwriting and producing. “I appreciate my dad, and my entire family, for supporting and believing in me.”

Mr. Carr gives all glory and honor to his Heavenly Father. He says he simply trusts God, and that is what keeps him pushing for the best. “It feels good to have the work that God has given me, bless so many. I am grateful that my daughter tapped into her gifts at such a young age and that she maintains a receptive and listening ear. She is a blessed young lady!”

In addition to his seemingly exhaustive work with Jekalyn, Carr is gearing up for a release from his newest artist on Lunjeal Music Group, Pastor Stephen Brown. Brown is a dynamic preacher and pastor, and was recently appointed over the Young Pastors and Preachers, aged 40 and under, in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, by presiding Bishop Joseph Walker. Brown has touched many lives over the years, and has a ministry that is sure to resonate with many. Mr. Carr is writing and producing on Brown’s forthcoming project including the first single titled, “Blessed Man”. That is, clearly, something Mr. Carr knows a lot about.
