The season will begin with a New Orleans Saints football game at the Louisiana Superdome.
“With me being from New Orleans and the Saints the reigning Super Bowl champs, I thought, what better place to kick off the new season than with the champs in The Big Easy?’” said Chambers.
The episode will showcase the brand new Champions Square outside the Superdome where game attendees gather in a festival-style setting hours before kick-off. Chambers interviews die-hard Saints fans who survived Hurricane Katrina, the nation’s worse natural disasters ever.
One guest tells of how he beat cancer during Katrina while another shares the story of losing her brother who was electrocuted during the disaster. Both feel the success of the Saints has not only lifted the spirits of the region’s residents, but gives them additional hope that you can make it through your personal storms if you continue to have faith and believe.
This season, Chambers will explore some of the greatest issues plaguing the Black community, including infant mortality, missing and exploited Black children and so much more.
