Grammy Winner and New Artist Rudy Currence #1 Single “I Belong Here” Spends Two Weeks Atop Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart

Grammy Award winning producer, songwriter and independent new artist Rudy Currence Billboard No.1 hit song “I Belong Here” spends its second consecutive week atop Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart (week ending Feb 13.)
Additionally, the song, which Currence wrote solo cracks Top 10 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart, #2 on Billboard’s Gospel Songwriters chart, and #3 on Billboard’s Gospel Producers chart. “I Belong Here” is his second Gospel Airplay Top 20 entry. His single “Testimony” reached No. 18 in February 2018.

“I feel like ‘I Belong Here’ is a song of faith needed for these trying times. It has a universal message and is a soundtrack of hope that everybody can relate to,” states Rudy Currence.

The Atlanta-based singer-songwriter has penned songs for artists including Mya, Ray J, blockbuster movie “The Bourne Identity,” David Banner, Christina Bell, and multiplatinum, Grammy and Emmy Award winning, music icon, Quincy Jones. In 2013, Rudy won both Grammy and Dove awards for his production on Lecrae’s album, “Gravity” and in 2015, was again Grammy nominated for writing “Sunday AM” (Pronounced Sunday Morning) for gospel music legend, Karen Clark Sheard.

A graduate of Furman University the Rock Hill, South Carolina native is endorsed by Kawai, the world’s second largest piano distributor and has millions of views on YouTube via the viral success of his online series The Kawai Kronicles. He has appeared on ABC’s The View, BET, Revolt TV, The Breakfast Club, and more. Rudy has toured nationally and abroad including renowned US venues like the House of Blues, City Winery, the Soul Train Music Cruise, Blue Bird Café, Hard Rock Café, and The World Famous Apollo Theatre.
