Penned by Gospel music icon, Rev. James Cleveland, the track is an unyielding declaration of the awesome abilities of God. Anita has given the classic a new twist, even introducing the song to a new generation. Written by one of Gospel music’s most prolific and awarded songwriters in the industry, the song was originally recorded in 1958. Anita took elements of this moving masterpiece and made it into a vibrant, soul stirring and Holy Ghost filled single.
Promoting the new song, Wilson will be traveling to Atlanta this weekend to perform during the taping of the Allstate Gospel Superfest. This year’s Gospel Superfest will be hosted by Wendy Raquel Robinson and features the best and brightest in Gospel music including Byron Cage, Earnest Pugh, Ricky Dillard and William Murphy. The taping will take place at the Georgia International Convention Center (2000 Convention Center Concourse, Atlanta GA 30337). The event begins at 6PM EST.
In addition to the taping, Wilson will be ministering at Bishop Paul S. Morton’s Changing A Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church this Sunday, March 10th. She will be singing at the church’s West Location (3350 Greenbriar Pkwy, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30331) during the 10AM service and at the East Location (2600 H.F. Shepherd Dr., Decatur, GA 30034) for the noon service. The following Friday, March 15, 2013, Anita will be participating in the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, one of the largest annual music festivals.
Growing up in East St. Louis, the songstress began singing at the age of five. A “PK”, preacher’s kid, Anita practically grew up between the pews of her father’s church. As she developed her singing style, she merged gospel with jazz and R&B influences from artists such as Sarah Vaughn, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Taking the passion of worship and mixing it with a heart of soul, Anita Wilson has created a style all her own. Connect with Anita Wilson on Twitter (@MsAnitaWilson) and Facebook.
