The announcements, which directly followed Tribbett’s charming time slot as a key presenter for the Grammy® telecast hosted by pop superstar Cyndi Lauper, came as the latest recognition the gospel hit-maker has received for the outstanding contributions listed aboard his inaugural Motown Gospel release.
Industry executives and media alike were wowed by his showing as the only gospel/inspirational act at the Universal Music Group Annual Showcase just a day prior. Collectively, the achievements mark a slew of wins for Tribbett who also took home trophies for ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2014 Stellar Awards (his fifth overall) and his first ‘Best Gospel/Inspirational Performance’ win at the 2013 Soul Train Awards.
The album’s lead single ‘If He Did It Before…Same God’ rests at #8 this week on the Hot Gospel Songs charts as it celebrates its 47th week aboard the tally. Its parent album, ‘Greater Than’, mirrors its success as it sits at #5 on Billboard Gospel Album Charts a whopping 24 weeks making its #1 debut there.
