The dynamic and full sound of the new CD is a result of the production expertise of GRAMMY, Dove and Stellar Award winner Steven Ford. Known for his producing and arranging credits on chart-topping songs for artists such as Richard Smallwood, Stephen Hurd, Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond, Bishop T.D. Jakes and a slew of others, Ford also had a major hand in writing and arranging songs on Keep Pressing.
The first single from the new project is an up-tempo, feel good song called “I Need You”. A true hand-clapper, the track’s lyrics are easily relatable to anyone who’s realized a need for God. Written from the pen of the producer himself, the words capture the essence of a heart in desperate need of the Lord.
The song is the first from Miller’s forthcoming album, Keep Pressing. Having experienced the suicide of his 16-year old daughter a few years ago, Conrad knows the struggles people encounter after facing a devastating, life-altering blow. For Conrad, the goal of the new CD is to provide the listener with hope and to remind people to keep their faith in God in sight at all times. “Everybody needs encouragement,” shares Miller. “Even though I am so excited about what we’ve done musically, my hope is that the lyrics touch people. l want people to be uplifted; I want them to feel God’s touch in their spirits after listening to Keep Pressing.”
Keep Pressing contains a mix of soulful, heart-stirring songs including “He’ll Never Let You Down”, “Our Prayer” and the inspirational title tune, “Keep Pressing”. Miller also covered two well-known songs on the project, “Amazing Grace” and “Center of My Joy”. Ford and Miller penned a number of cuts on the album as well. In addition, songwriter Jackie Cordoroy was brought in to share her tunes, “I’m Living” and “Without Fail”.
Miller has been in love with music since starting piano lessons at the age of five. He began singing seriously at the age of 12, ultimately becoming a member of the R&B group, The Soulful Seven, signed to MGM Records. As an R&B songwriter, one of his songs, “Carla, My Love”, was recorded by the nationally-known group, The SofTones. He received his musical education at Fort Hays Kansas State University and did his graduate work at the University of Michigan in voice and opera. He’s sung at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and in Europe. For more information on Conrad Miller, log on to www.ConradMillerMusic.com.
