Introduces New RichEscape Artist, Kathy Rowley Olatunde
(Washington, D.C.) – December 14, 2010 – Christmas time is the perfect time to sit around the tree and ring in the holiday season. Gospel Jazz artist, producer and songwriter Terrence Richburg has penned a new Christmas tune called “In One Night”. The original track, written by the owner of the Stellar Award-nominated, RichEscape Music, LLC, is a jazzy yet classically-infused ballad about the Savior’s birth. The single is available in four versions: the original track with vocals, an instrumental version (showcasing an exceptional acoustic guitar and 7-string bass performance by Richburg) and a radio edit for each. Richburg’s first release in several years not only features the smooth styling his fans are accustomed to, but it introduces the vocal talents of Gospel Jazz singer Kathy Rowley Olatunde.
The vocalist is already receiving kudos for her performance on “In One Night”. Herb Spencer, known for his Gospel Jazz radio program Instruments of Praise, enjoys the song. “I think the song is beautiful,” says Spencer. “Olatunde’s voice reminded me of Deniece Williams. This song will make listeners smile and gives God praise. ‘In One Night’, to think that what happened in one night changed the world.” Olatunde, a professional vocalist, actress and model, and now a new part of RichEscape Music, will be releasing her debut project in 2012.
She was thrilled to be a part of the recording process. “I was so glad when Terrence asked me to do the lead vocals on the song,” says Kathy. “My heart felt such warmth while singing a tribute to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My spirit is always filled with joy when I think about the Christ child and the celebration of His birth. I am grateful for the sacrifice He made to redeem our souls.”

The new song and its four versions are available for download purchase at the eStore of TerrenceRichburg.com. Hard copies of the single are available for purchase as well. He is excited about the festive song and hopes to spread Christmas joy with the record. He says, “The single, In One Night, marks the beginning of a brand new season for RichEscape Music, LLC and also for me as an artist, both professionally and personally. Although I wrote In One Night back in 1990, the blessing of music is its ability to transcend time and space while yet providing a sure anchor of inspiration along the many paths that await us on our journey. In One Night serves as a fresh reminder of God’s amazing sacrificial love for us. He made it possible for us to begin again with an exciting intimate love relationship with Him that will last throughout all eternity.”
The release is the first of many for the artist. The son of ground-breaking gospel pioneers, John and Wilhelmina Richburg of the Richburg Singers (formerly with Atlantic Records) and the nephew of Jazz legend Ronnie Wells, he will be dropping his first literary writing called, “Intimacy: Missing ‘Peace’ in the Puzzle of True Love & Close Relationships” and its companion smooth jazz and inspirational R&B CD in early 2011. He will also be delivering another new project, My All, followed by the full length Christmas CD, In One Night.
Fans of the artist in the Washington, D.C. area can enjoy a live performance of his Christmas songs at New Horizon Hall of Elegance (2209 Varnum Street, Mt. Rainier, MD – 301.277.5922) this Friday, December 17, 2010 at 7PM. His band, Terrence Richburg & The Experience, will be performing. Cost for the event is $30.00 and includes dinner and Christian comedy as well. For more information on Terrence or to purchase “In One Night”, log on to www.TerrenceRichburg.com.
