Many believers are waiting with bated breath on the promises of God to come to pass.  “Any Day Now”, the new hit song from Gospel Recording Artist Gerald Scott, is giving them a new anthem of hope.  The memorable track about blessed expectation is being sung in churches across the nation.  Its popularity caught the attention of radio programmers as well and the song recently shot up the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs Chart, where it’s been sitting in the Top 30 for a number of weeks now; so far, the track has peaked at #18.  Considering the impressive talents and expertise of the psalmist and worship leader, it’s no surprise that Gerald Scott has a hit on his hands.  A noted songwriter and new staff member of the mega-church Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD, under the musical leadership of award-winning recording artist and choir master Ricky Dillard, Gerald has had success with other songs including “Glad About It”, which was covered by Zacardi Cortez and The Walls Group.  The success of “Any Day Now” is just the tip of the iceberg for this anointed artist.
A clever mix of contemporary Christian music and passionate praise and worship, “Any Day Now” was created in an atmosphere of worship.  “I was thinking about the concept of the song for a while, but had never sat down to write it,” says Gerald.  “One day I was at a concert and the song just came.  I just started singing it – with my band members and singers wondering what was happening.  But it just flowed.  I taught it to the audience at the same time and we ended up singing it for about 15 minutes.  My singers and musicians loved the song, too, and encouraged me to record it.  Just a couple of days later, we were in the studio recording the song,” Gerald explains.  The track is the first single from the upcoming CD, Next Level, scheduled to release in early 2016.  Right on the heels of the success of “Any Day Now”, soon he will be dropping a brand new single, “Jesus On My Side”, another song from the pen of Gerald Scott.
From the very beginning, Gerald was surrounded by Gospel music.  With a grandfather who was a Baptist pastor and grandmother who was a minister of music, church and music were a daily part of Gerald’s life.  He performed his first solo at his home church at the age of 7, learning the drums, the bass, the keyboard and the organ while in high school.  It was in high school that he realized he had been called to music ministry.  During his time at Clark Atlanta University, he served as the musician for chapel services there.  Shortly after, he formed Gerald Scott & Co., an ensemble with a vision to help others grow spiritually and musically.  The gifted singing aggregation found success with songs from their 2007 debut, Intro, as well as their sophomore effort, Don’t Let Go.  Songs from both projects found their way to playlists on Gospel radio stations nationally and in the Washington, DC area, Gerald’s hometown.  Their third project, Incredible, was released in partnership with Habakkuk Records.  Since that time, the group has opened up for artists such as Tye Tribbett, Bishop Paul S. Morton, James Fortune & FIYA, Kierra Sheard, Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, Byron Cage, Kurt Carr, John P. Kee and Marvin Sapp.  As a background vocalist, Gerald has provided vocals for artists such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Kim Burrell, Daryl Coley and the late Ray Charles.
Gerald aspires to create great music.  He says, “It’s important to me to set a high musical standard.  At the same time, I want to provide a fresh musical perspective, conveying to listeners that even when they may feel that they’re at their lowest point, God is able to lift their he
