“God of The Impossible” Christopher Ervin and Abraham’s Descendants celebrates their 5th Anniversary and LIVE Recording!

From very early on in his childhood, God began to deal with Christopher L. Ervin.  Beginning at the age of 8, Christopher began directing, singing, and developing his skills on the organ and piano, to play for his church and first place of worship, Pilgrims’ Rest Church, Inc., in Olivia, NC.  At age 12, God began to give Ervin songs of praise and worship, and in 2005, it was prophesied that he would be director of a world-renowned group of singers.  It wasn’t until September of 2007 that Ervin decided, under the unction of the Holy Spirit, to form Radikal Praize, a community gospel choir consisting of students from North Carolina A&T State University. During this time, he was faced with many trials and hardships, but his faith never failed.  Despite adversity, Ervin continued to give God his best!

While in attendance at North Carolina A&T State University, his consistently honorable dedication to the university’s Award Winning Fellowship Gospel Choir presented Ervin with the opportunity to serve as the choir’s student director, and student trainer. Under his direction, the choir went on to win competitions and receive several accolades; allowing the choir to continuously uphold their decorated title with confidence.  The time presented itself for Ervin to enter the next dimension of expectation.  Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in General Music, and continuously perfecting his craft in voice, piano, and percussion, Ervin was equipped with the ability to operate in multiple arenas and positions.

Christopher is currently serving as the Minister of Music at Zion Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Chester, SC, and the Director of Worship and Arts for the Sandy River Baptist Association (Lower Division). Due to his relocation to Charlotte, NC, Christopher’s journey with Radikal Praize ended, but cleared the way for the start of a new music ministry, Abraham’s Descendants, also known as “AD.”

Abraham’s Descendants is a 40-member choir based out of Charlotte, identifying as having a classic east coast sound with a twist!  Along with traveling the east coast, using his elaborate skill, and gift as a choir director, musician, clinician, producer, and arranger, Christopher has also managed to share the stage with renowned gospel artists, such as: Tye Tribbett, Kurt Carr, Jonathan Nelson, James Fortune, Yolanda Adams, Donald Lawrence, Dorinda Clark-Cole, and Tonex, just to name a few.  Ervin is a proud member of Ricky Dillard and the New Generation Chorale, and serves as a studio background vocalist for Pastor John P. Kee.  In 2016, Ervin launched the brand “C. Ervin,” a business geared to vocal coaching, vocal arranging/production, beginner music theory and piano.  The legacy of Christopher L. Ervin is already evident of the abundant promises of his heavenly father, and it is only just beginning.
