Bishop Jakes and Oprah reached out to a few families in the audience who once suffered from living fatherless lives, but with their help, are on the verge of healing. Through conversation and discussion between Bishop Jakes, Oprah and the select guests, the audience was able to see the power of communication to define family and bring fatherless families together again. Even former Dallas Cowboys player Emmitt Smith was on hand to share his personal testimony in regard to his relationship with his daughter.
The second recording focused on creating and maintaining a healthy connection within every form of a relationship, including friendship, marriage, dating, brotherhood, sisterhood, etc. For this segment Bishop Jakes gave such good wisdom and advice that he made Oprah have several “Aha Moments” as she would say, even causing the media mogul to come to tears at several points. The selected audience guests for this topic were two sisters who hadn’t spoken in years because of betrayal, a man who hadn’t spoken to his father in years because of an argument, a young woman who doesn’t communicate with her mother because of neglect and a man that doesn’t talk to his parents because of their micro-management over his marriage.
Both episodes of Oprah’s Lifeclass will air this month so make sure you check your local listings to find out when. I can attest that this will be something you don’t want to miss. I don’t want to give away any direct quotes from Bishop Jakes or Oprah because I don’t want to take away from the “Aha Moments” that you will experience. So, grab you loved ones and make sure you tune in because I can guarantee that someone, if not everyone, will be healed by something you see or hear.
