Earnest PughTo Perform At Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication Events This Week

Gospel Music’s new Leading Man, Earnest Pugh, is celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as the country prepares to unveil a statute in King’s honor on The National Mall this weekend. The singer known best for his #1 hit “Rain On Us” and his current #2 smash, “I Need Your Glory,” says, “I’m honored to have been invited to sing at two great events honoring one of my personal heroes. This monument is long over due and I’m so pleased to take part in this historical weekend.”

On Thursday, August 25, 2011 @ 12-2 p.m., Pugh will sing the national anthem at the “Honoring Civil Rights Leaders Past, Present and Future” Luncheon. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., actress Victoria Rowell will be among the speakers. Event takes place at Washington Convention Center in Hall D.

On Sunday, August 28, 2011 @ 4-6 p.m., Pugh will perform at the “Lift Every Voice And Sing” Gospel Extravaganza also taking place at the Convention Center
