In the song Randall talks about his wild days of drinking and partying before he established a relationship with God. “I was a mess,” he laughs. Ty Steez produced the track with Aphillyatted who has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar and on Lecrae’s Grammy winning “Gravity” CD. The tune will anchor Randall’s forthcoming CD “No Judgment” that’s scheduled to release in late 2014.
The last decade has been an up and down battle for Randall who has lived with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia since 2006. He’s fought his illness with his faith and an improved diet. He also began an expensive experimental medical therapy that isn’t covered by insurance. “I don’t want people to think that I no longer have the illness,” Randall says. “I have pain and depression. There are times that I don’t sleep for days because I am afraid to sleep. However, my faith has grown tremendously.” The Lake Charles, LA native was signed to the Isley Brothers’ T-Neck/Island Records label. After Universal/Polygram took over the company in 1999, he left to start Lavish Records.
