Singer and evangelist Bryan Wilson took a big bite out of The Big Apple this past weekend. He kicked Saturday off with a barnstorming performance of praise, worship and Caribbean flavored music at the 9th Pastoral Anniversary Banquet for Pastor Maxine Johnson  (Miracle Christian Center, Paterson, NJ) at the elegant Bethwood in Totowa, NJ.

Wilson then made an early appearance at the 8 a.m. service of the historic Cornerstone Baptist Church in Brooklyn where he led the congregation in singing Deitrick Haddon’s “He’s Able” (view: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnZYj-A8Pso),  a hymn medley and closed out with his current radio single, “It Will Happen For Me” (from the CD “Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix VI”).

Wilson then headed over to WBLS/WLIB’s annual Circle of Sisters Expo that drew thousands of people to the The Jacob Javitz Center in Manhattan. WLIB/WBLS radio personality Liz Black hosted the gospel stage featuring Nancey Jackson Johnson,  Kenny Bobien, a special appearance by James Fortune. Wilson wowed the crowd with “It Will Happen” (view: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFdP1_5IAug  and other tunes from his current CD “Limited Edition” and closed out with a Jamaican-flavored remake of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” that had the crowd rocking from side to side as Wilson asked the Lord to stand by him in the song.

Wilson, who is also now a preaching evangelist, is currently putting the finishing touches on his next CD “First Place Finish” tentatively set for an April 2014 release. Follow him on Twitter: https://twitter.com/iambryanwilson .
