The legendary choir was in the news this past January when it performed a majestic new rendition of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” on a program featuring James Taylor, Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson at President Obama’s inaugural swearing-in ceremony on the steps of the U.S. Capitol with an audience of over 800,000 spectators on the ground and over a billion watching on television screens around the world. The choir’s soul-stirring update of “The Battle Hymn” is featured on the new fifteen-song set alongside its current Christian AC radio single “Faithful To The End.” The album was produced by choir founder Carol Cymbala and music director Jason Michael Webb. A physical CD release date is pending.
The 300-voice choir is a blend of ethnic and economic backgrounds, with members ranging from lawyers and doctors to former drug addicts. Over the years, the choir has performed at major venues such as Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden.
