Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. Hosts “The Safe Harbor Retreat” for Clergy

BishopDHEven pastors and church leaders need to be spiritually refreshed and Donald Hilliard Ministries is kicking off a “Safe Harbor Retreat” to minister to their spiritual needs. This conference is designed to empower them spiritually, mentally and emotionally to gain the essential tools needed to equip them as leaders to lead a balanced and healthy life despite the demands of their spiritual offices. In his book “Perils of Leadership,” Keith Pryor suggests that clergy can overcome battles ranging from depression to sexual infidelity with proper counseling. Safe Harbor provides opportunities for church leaders to rest and re-charge their batteries with a full menu of workshops, breakout sessions, panel discussions and evening worship services. Some of the outstanding speakers for the retreat will include Dr. Cynthia James from The Potter’s House in Dallas, TX; Bishop George, Sr. and Pastor Mary Searight of Abundant Life Family Worship Center in New Brunswick, NJ; Dr. Antipas Harris of Regents University in Virginia Beach, VA; and Pastor Phyllis Hilliard and Dr. Deniece Reid of Cathedral International; and Dr. Cedric Johnson of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. has been the Senior Pastor of Cathedral International, a church of 5,000 members in Perth Amboy, NJ for over thirty years. He is a graduate of Eastern College, Princeton Theological Seminary and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio where he earned his Doctor of Ministry degree. Dr. Hilliard serves as President of the Pastor’s Leadership Alliance Network and travels the world as a renowned preacher and a motivational speaker. Consecrated as Bishop in 1995, Dr. Hilliard is the Presiding Bishop and Founder of the Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship and Cathedral Assemblies, Inc. In this role, Bishop Hilliard serves as the spiritual advisor and mentor for several pastors and churches across the United States and West Africa. He is the author of several books and has received numerous awards and citations for his community efforts such as his role in the ongoing renewal of downtown Perth Amboy.
