Award-Winning Gospel Artist & Worship Leader Drew Baxter Encourages Fellow Believers and Himself with New Single, “We Have The Victory”

Worship leader Drew Baxter is determined to inspire people through song. During this current season of uncertainty and unrest, his goal is to turn people’s focus back to God. A singer, musician and producer, this triple threat has been moving people’s hearts with music since he was young. His talent has brought him before the greats, such as Bishop William Murphy, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Martha Munizzi and his uncle, Douglas Miller. The Gospel music industry will continue to witness his unique gifting with his brand new single, “We Have The Victory”. The song, penned by the artist, is a reminder to believers that despite the challenges, our victory is assured. The single is available for pre-orders now on iTunes. It releases on October 30, 2020 and will be available on all digital outlets including iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play and Spotify.

An up-tempo praise track, “We Have The Victory” finds the listener singing along while declaring success. Although the catchy song features inspiring background vocals and uplifting lyrics, the tune was born out of grief. “The song came to me after going through a painful divorce,” says Baxter. “At that time, I felt like I was finished with music, but that changed when I heard a sermon. The speaker said that anyone who is successful had to overcome obstacles. He said that if you aren’t motivated to overcome obstacles, how can you then succeed in Christ? That statement caught my attention and the Holy Spirit said to me, ‘You are victorious; you will win. I need you to put the shattered pieces of your life back together again’”. And that’s exactly what he’s begun to do.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Drew Baxter is rebuilding his life. The new Music Director at Christ Community Church in Cleveland, OH, is well acquainted with serving in music ministry in church. His parents, both pastors, Bishop Robert S. Baxter, Sr. and Pastor Grace N. Baxter, encouraged his musical gifts as a youngster. It was his father, with a talent for music himself, who taught Drew how to play the keyboard, the organ and the drums. Soon after, singing came and he took on a role as Worship Leader, which ultimately led to a position as Minister of Music. He’s toured and played for his father, his uncle, Douglas Miller, Tonex, Beverly Crawford, among others.

The former leader of the Gospel ensemble, Drew Baxter & New Inspiration of Praise, launched his solo career with the release of his debut, The World Needs You, in 2016.
