Psalmist Raine has a passion for worship. Since the release of her ground-breaking prophetic project, 2016’s ReFresh Worship Live, worshippers have been basking in the presence of God. The critically-acclaimed project had fans and fellow artists alike singing praises. Stellar Award Winner Jason Nelson said this: “EVERY worship leader needs to purchase this CD from @psalmistraine. It’s the epitome of prophetic worship! Thank you for pure worship & praise. #refreshworshiplive”. Now the worship leader has added to her catalog with a brand new release entitled, To Abba. A follow up to ReFresh Worship Live, To Abba is the 3rd release from the celebrated artist. The project is currently available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and other digital music outlets.Those who are familiar with the music ministry of Psalmist Raine know she loves to flow in non-stop worship. To Abba provides of the lover of God with that opportunity. Each song is reflective and Christ-centered, allowing the listener to commune with the Almighty. The 12-song release begins with a mellow rendition of “The Lord’s Prayer.” In a similar fashion as Refresh Worship Live, the rest of the CD contains a hybrid of spontaneous worship and prophetic songs showcasing uninterrupted worship. Tracks like the moving “Our Creator”, the captivating “Eternal God” and the sweet “Your Love” transport the listener to the Throne Room of God. The soft sounds of “You Reign Forever” remind believers of God’s eternal sovereignty. “For Us” talks about the sacrifice our Savior made for us. “All Glory/Lord of All” captures the purity of Psalmist Raine’s vocals and the title tune, “To Abba” is a 14-minute worship experience. Each song is intentionally centered on the Lord.
“This project is truly my gift to God,” says Psalmist Raine. “I recorded the project on my 30th birthday. I wanted to spend my entire day worshiping God. It was my way of saying ‘thank you’ to my Heavenly Father for giving me life.” In addition to expressing her gratitude to God, she also had another purpose in mind. For Psalmist Raine, it’s important for believers to relax in God. Her album cover was specifically chosen to convey that message. She says, “Sometimes we can distance ourselves from God because of holy fear, but the purpose of this project is to encourage people to love on God. My desire is for God’s people to run to Him and embrace Him, seeing Him as a loving father.”
In addition to her role as worship leader at her home church, Life in Christ Family Worship Center in Chicago, under the leadership of Pastors Royal & Kimberly McClinton, she also trains other worship leaders. She’s been hosting ReFresh Workshops, targeted to rejuvenate those in worship leader roles at their church. Psalmist Raine has been nominated for the Chicago Gospel Music Award for Praise & Worship Artist of the Year and she is the winner of the Peculiar Art Award from Kierra Sheard’s BRL (Bold Right Life) Chicago Chapter. She dropped her debut album, Believe Again – The Live Experience, in 2013 which was followed by ReFresh Worship Live. She’s in preparation for her fourth CD, a live project, scheduled to take place in Atlanta in late September.
