William Becton Sets The Summer Off Blazing With Recreation Of The 1980’s Classic “Set Me On Fire”

After the release of his “Be Encouraged 2020 Remix” in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the iconic hit, Gospel music trend-setter William Becton returns with more soulful music for Black Music Month.  He is a two-time Stellar Award-winning producer who has taken his music to #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums Chart and has crossed over to the R&B Top 40 Radio charts.

Becton’s newest offering is a remake of the 1980s classic “Set Me On Fire”.  His blazing musical production heats up the track that encourages listeners to live a life sold out for Christ so that others can see the fire that burns within the soul.

“When I started walking with the Lord years ago Set Me On Fire was a popular chant that would always touch my heart during praise services,”  Becton states.  “I adapted the chorus and recreated it for my live set in the 90s and it’s been a staple for my fan base ever since.  As churches begin to corporately gather again, I felt led to release this recreation into the atmosphere. Now more than ever our cry needs to be for the fire of God!”

“Set Me On Fire” is available now on all digital music outlets and is a single from Becton’s forthcoming BROKEN 3 album releasing this fall via his Becthoven Music Group, LLC (BMG) record label.  “Set Me On Fire” features guest vocalist Stef (Stephanie McLain). Stef is Becton’s protégée and an artist on the BMG label.  In addition, Becton will compile and release the BROKEN album series this year in a complete collection of work called BROKEN TRILOGY.

June is celebrated as African American Music Month (Black Music Month) to pay tribute to the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation’s cultural heritage.  Becton is noted as an icon in Gospel music for his contributions of albums and songs that have substantially impacted the genre and Black music.  His impressive catalog continues to grow with selections like “Set Me On Fire” that will forever positively impact culture and the hearts of people.
