The other day, Weekly World News, an African American Humor Blog, published a story that Actor/Producer/Director Tyler Perry purchased American Airlines for $5 Billion dollars. According to the report, Mr. Perry plans to rename the airline “African American Airlines” and said that he will operate as CEO, CFO, CIO, Director of Human Resources and will pilot many of the flights.
In November, AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines based in Dallas, announced that the company filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection in the Southern District of New York, however no claims have been verified by either the company or Mr. Perry on the site.
Even with the article being presented as a joke, people from all over took the news very seriously and even started posting congratulation messages on Mr. Perry’s Website, Facebook page, Twitter in addition to many calls to his Atlanta Based office.
As busy as Mr. Perry is, people should of already knew it was a joke for him to want to be CEO,CFO, CIO, Director of Human Resources and a pilot!! I gotta laugh about that. Just imagine it. All I can see is “Madea’s Goes Crazy on the Airplane”.

I must admit that when I first saw it I was like way to go Tyler, and posted it to my page before reading the article. Then when I read it..and got down to the part that stated he would be all of those positions I took it off my wall. I was telling my friends that if he actually had bought it that would be HEADLINE news everywhere..plus I am on tylers fans list and he would have sent a messgage responding to it. I think that its negative in that the joke is that name of the airline and that if a black person were to purchase it that we they think we would name it that…but the positive is that people supported him and that someone realized his potential and worth

dont find it funny at all, it was actually insulting because it was inside humor against african americans, next they gonna say the airline serves all form of chicken wings and kool-aid. are we gonna find that funny to. it interesting how we find it amusing when our culture is disrespected and than say people who think like me is too serious and don’t have a sense of humor which is far from the truth

If you don’t have anything positive to say about Mr. Perry (who, by the grace of God has done more for people in his sleep than you probably have), then don’t say or post anything at all! The same God that blessed you to get where you are right now, is the same God that Mr. Perry belongs to and is abundantly blessing right now!
