Stellar Award Nominee Kenny Lewis & One Voice Releases Brand New Single, “Love Song”

unnamed-86 Fans of Gospel music have been enjoying the ministry of Kenny Lewis & One Voice since the Chicago-based ensemble delivered their debut record in 2001. The singing aggregation gained the respect of the industry with Billboard-charting hits like “The Bridge”, “Yes”, “Everybody Everybody” and “Hero”. Proficient in multiple styles of Gospel music including traditional, contemporary and urban praise and worship, Kenny Lewis & One Voice burst onto the national music scene with their 2015 Stellar Award nomination for Contemporary Gospel Choir of the Year. Now the ensemble has released a brand new single, “Love Song”. The track is available for purchase at digital outlets including iTunesGoogle Play and Amazon.

“Love Song” is the first release from the upcoming project Refocus. The new CD, scheduled for release on April 7, 2017, is the first one on Lewis’ newly-formed record label, Pure Sound Music Group. The project will be distributed through Central South Distribution. It’s the artist’s first release since the critically-acclaimed The Way Of Escape, which released in 2015.

Refocus’ lead single, “Love Song”, is one that’s close to the heart of the worship leader and songwriter. The beautifully-penned ballad speaks about what Lewis feels believers need to focus on. “In this season of chaos, I believe the saint’s job is to love God,” shares Lewis. “The song is a really simple message to God. Love is a simple concept; it’s important that everyone understands the message. You don’t need to be a biblical scholar to understand the simplicity of loving God.”

Kenny Lewis is passionate about sharing the love of Christ through music. It’s that same passion that led him to form the group, One Voice, in 1999. The name of the group was inspired by Lewis’ desire that people hear more than just beautiful music when his group sings. “When people hear us sing, my prayer is that they not just hear soprano, alto, and tenor, but that they hear one voice, the voice of the Lord,” says Lewis.

Since that time, the ensemble has released multiple projects including The Bridge on Marxan/Malaco Records and The Mission, recorded live at West Point Baptist Church, released on ICEE/Koch. The group’s songs and albums have hit both the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart and Billboard Hot Gospel Singles Charts. The Way Of Escape, the project that netted the group their first Stellar Award Nomination, included the hit, “Hero”.

The success of the group should come as no surprise to those familiar to the upbringing of Kenny Lewis. Raised in a family filled with preachers, pastors, musicians and singers, Lewis caught the music ministry bug early in life. A pianist, keyboardist, and organist by the age of 13, he became minister of music at 15. He rose to prominence in the Chicago Gospel music scene as the lead vocalist of Mark Hubbard’s song, “Give Him All The Praise” and Ricky Dillard’s “Hallelujah”. Since forming One Voice, Lewis’s ensemble has performed in the US and abroad. For more information about Kenny Lewis and One Voice, log on to www.kennylewisonevoice.com.
