Riva Tims Releases Statement Regarding NDCC’s Refusal to Meet With Her

Riva Tims, ex-wife of the late Pastor Zach Tims, has broken her silence via Facebook in regards to the selection process of his successor. As you may know, New Destiny Christian Center, the church founded by Riva and Zach 15 years ago, announced a new Pastor will be revealed on New Years Eve. Many would think Riva, co-founder of the church, would be included in the process, however, she is not.

A Bishop’s Committee Council was constructed to aid in helping NDCC install a new pastor in the wake of Zach Tims’ untimely passing. Included in this council are mega-church Pastors including Paula White and Bishop I.V. Hilliard. Ironically, Hilliard recently resigned from the council to “maintain his integrity”, stating via Twitter:

“Who stands by and watches a theft take place and does not sound the alarm? Only the irresponsible and the uncaring..NDCC members we care…”

The internet is buzzing with reports over the selection process as the date for unveiling the new Pastor draws near. Reports including corruption, lies, deception, manipulation and greed are all coming from people close to the situation. Sources claim that Paula White replacing Tims is not a rumor but indeed fact, even though he would have “never approved”.

Below is Riva Tims’ official statement regarding NDCC refusing to meet with her:

“To the members of NDCC, I know there is a lot going on for you all right now. My heart aches for you and I would have loved to be a part of the healing process for you. The children and I feel the same concerns many of you have expressed to me. Please know that even though the Board including Paula White refused to meet with me as the co-founder of NDCC on behalf of my children, I have a resolve that God is ALMIGHTY and HE is the righteous judge. Continue to pray for God’s perfect will and that the Spirit of Truth will continually be manifested. I love you much.”

Absolutely. She is one of the founders of the church. I’m in agreement with her, God will have HIS way. Shame on those who try to push her and her young family out of what they built as a family with the blessing and help of God and many others. The heart of the church has moved AWAY from the heart of God. This is proof. It’s very sad. Praying for the family. JJ

Yes she should it is repectful and her and her husband, founded the ministry. Paula White is not the right choice, too much baggage, it must be someone who is not known. The church needs a freash start, with some one new and Sister Tim’s should be taken care of financially.
Paula White as pastor is not scriptural.

I truly think Pastor Reva should pastor this church. I believe the body of Christ has just become a den of theives. If the church members prefer Pastor Reva while so much politics. Are we for God(love and peace) or not. May the power of God intercede is my prayer.

Yes, I do think that she should have been involved. It is very disrespectful to ignore one of the founders of the church/ministry. She was there from the beginning–struggling from the first store front to the present facility. As I posted somewhere else, I believe that anyone to be considered for this position should not have been on the board–conflict of interest. Pastor Reva, should have been considered for pastor even though she has a growing ministry, Majestic Life. Now, I think that the current decision should be done away with and the process started again.

There is absolutely no doubt, and should be a no brainer that Riva Tims should be the PASTOR, not in the selection so-called process. SHE along with her late embattled husband in better days founded the church and made it what it is, and although I like Paula White and dont have a problem with her, I dont think she should be the successor. This shows that there is much to be desired in the black church on all levels.

My prayers go up for this ministry during this time and selection process. I do wish the new pastor was someone new, a fresh face and married, true to the word and calling of God and the people of God. No one is our perfect example except Jesus Christ. Please Lord intervene in these matters. Bless u all. Peace. R.St.

I am really praying for this ministry and this process. As to why Sister Timms is not a part of the selection process is totally baffling to me. Her husband was the Senior Pastor of this ministry, and she played a predominant role in the ministry as well. For outsiders to come in and not allow her to have a say in something that she and her husband built is beyond me. Something’s not right here. I really liked and agreed w/ what Bishop I.V. Hilliard said and did concerning his part in this process. Let’s continue to pray that GOD will ensure the right thing is accomplished for this ministry.

I think Paula White should consider giving the pulpit back to Pastor Riva Tims. She is hypocritical and a merchandizer of God’s people. For years she and Randy went arount the country holding marriage seminars while they were in divorce court. What hypocricy. Pastor Riva on the otherhand is a saint. She left her husband after finding out he was unfaithful. Preaching the Gospel and sleeping with a stripper. How do you do that?
