He Attended Orange County Public Schools and graduated from Jones High School and also attended Miles College in Birmingham, for a period of time.

He is known for his love of song – Florida Mass Choir; Jones High school choir; local community choirs and singing for weddings, birthdays and funerals or as needed as he ministered the Word of God in song.

He also loved and is known for his radio career at WOKB, WAJL, WORL, 102 Jamz, Star 94.5 and also did radio for a time in Birmingham, ALA. He loved promoting gospel music, new and upcoming artists local and national, as well as gospel concerts. He was and is respected in the gospel arena.

He had a passion for trains that surpassed all others and loved going to the beach.
He attended – Shiloh Baptist Church, Carters Tabernacle, Gorman Memorial/El Bethel Temple of Jesus in Orlando; Tabernacle of the Enlightened Church of God; New Destiny Christian Center; Soaring Eagles, Destiny Life Christian Center, Strong Tower Ministries and The Power of Faith Healing and Deliverance Center.

At the Power of Faith Healing and Deliverance Center – he led Praise and Worship and sang in the Men’s Choir as well as the Convention Choir. Even throughout this journey Wright would be so sick, but once he stepped in God’s House he sang through his pain and sickness. He pressed on when others would have given up.

He met and married Cassandra Stephens in 1986 after dating for nine months; they have just celebrated their 30 year anniversary in 2016. To this union were two sons – Christian and Stephen. He had a special love for children; he was an awesome encourager in every way, He was truly a gentle giant and warrior. His voice alone commanded the presence of God. He would take no credit, he would always say “To God be the Glory”.

He created and presented the 102JAMZ and the Glory of Gospel. During the time of the Desert Storm, he persisted and got the opportunity he needed with 102JAMZ and the rest is history. The Lord allowed him a large platform to share the gospel in song, ministry and inspiration through the airways and he took every opportunity to heart. He traveled extensively and loved every minute to share the gospel.

He did not have a bad word to say about anyone, even though there were many who had words to say about him. He was and is loving, caring, kind and gentle. He loved to cook and grill. He is and will always be my One and Only. He loved in spite of – His favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13.

The songs in which he is most adoring are – I’m Truly Blessed and Jesus the Center of my Joy. There are others, but he loved them all even the old school gospel. He was teased as being the Luther of Gospel Music. His favorite sign off saying – “Though it tarry wait for it; it shall not lie, but come to pass, settle your heart and put your mind at ease, Jesus Christ will come and meet your needs.”
