Motown 60 Set To Close Out At Home! Gospel Concert Feat. Regina Belle, Try Tribbett, Kierra Sheard and More !

Motown’s ongoing 60th anniversary celebration will culminate in September with a full weekend of festivities celebrating the Detroit born musical legacy billed as Motown Weekend.

Topping the Motown Weekend agenda is a Sept. 22 event at Orchestra Hall dubbed Hitsville Honors, where seasoned Motown performers including theTemptations, Four Tops, Mary Wilson and Martha Reeves will be joined by later-generation artists such as Big Sean, Kem and Ne-Yo, paying tribute to label founder Berry Gordy Jr. Hitsville Honors will also bestow awards on other dignitaries and musical figures – R&B Hall of Fame to honor Aretha, Stevie Wonder, Eddie Kendricks

Gordy will be on hand for the red-carpet evening, which is open to the public. Tickets range from $50 to $1,000 and go on sale August 1 on the MotownMuseum website.

Also planned will be a free Sept. 21 gospel concert featuring Regina Belle and Tye Tribbett, Tasha Page-Lockhart and Kierra (Kiki) Sheard, The performance will be held at Detroit World Outreach in Redford Township. The free tickets will be available online Aug. 28 on a first-come-first-served basis, via the museum website.

Closing out Motown Weekend will be a day of golf with Motown alumni, who will be traveling to Detroit from across the country for the festivities. The Soul In One Celebrity Golf Classic will start at 11 a.m. Sept. 23 at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club

Soul In One will be hosted by the Four Tops’ Duke Fakir and radio personality Donnie Simpson.
